SSU Data Privacy Policy

In accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), the Sulu State University (SSU) is dedicated to the protection and safeguarding of all personal data shared with the institution through this Feedback System.

1. Information We Collect

Through the SSU Serbisyo Feedback System, we may collect the following information:

  • Your name (optional)
  • Your email address (optional)
  • Your respondent type (e.g., student, faculty, staff, parent)
  • The office or department you transacted with
  • The service or transaction you availed
  • Your satisfaction rating and written comments
  • Date and time of submission

2. Purpose of Data Collection

The information collected through this tool will be exclusively utilized to:

  • Assess and improve the quality of services provided by SSU offices
  • Comply with the Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) and Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Law
  • Monitor and track the resolution of feedback and complaints
  • Generate statistical reports for internal quality improvement

3. Data Confidentiality

SSU recognizes its responsibilities with respect to the data it collects. Your personal data will be:

  • Treated with the utmost confidentiality
  • Stored within SSU's secure information and communication system
  • Accessed only by SSU's authorized personnel
  • Never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for commercial purposes

4. Data Retention

Feedback data will be retained for a period of three (3) years from the date of submission, after which it may be anonymized or deleted in accordance with SSU's records retention schedule.

5. Your Rights

As a data subject, you have the right to:

  • Access – Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction – Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure – Request deletion of your data, subject to legal limitations
  • Data Portability – Request a copy of your data in a usable format
  • Object – Object to the processing of your personal data
This privacy policy is aligned with RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), RA 11032 (EODB Law), and RA 9485 (Anti-Red Tape Act).
